Introducing CMG's New Contributor, Barb Upchurch

In 2010, Barb Upchurch and Stephanie Ganz met at a Richmond-based non-profit dedicated to helping people start small businesses. There, Barb was the Director of the Women's Business Center, and Stephanie managed the Breadwinners program--a grant-funded initiative designed to help women create food-based businesses. The two were an instant match, sharing a love of food, travel, and enterprise development; and from there The Apple Cart was born to help people create and grow their food businesses. In 2019, Barb purchased the company from Stephanie, whose writing career was expanding. The agency continues to grow with a team of strategic partners who can provide solutions at all stages of business development.

She has worked with clients ranging from Cavalier Produce to Jiji's Frozen Custard to Richmond Restaurant Week. She has years of experience working with restaurants and specialty food companies.

As a CMG News Contributor, she is using her experience and insight to provide vital information for small businesses, start-ups, and nonprofits. We are collaborating to ensure that our community and clients have ample knowledge and resources to grow to the next level.
