How has their business shifted as a result of the COVID-19 crisis?
Kimble continues to do business much as they did pre-pandemic in that they have always been set up technologically to work anytime from anywhere. These days, like most people, they work from their respective homes and speak with clients, investment managers and each other by phone, text and Zoom. Given the turmoil in the markets this past month, Kimble has worked especially long hours doing lots of epidemiological reading and reconfiguring of client portfolios to account for changes in the risk environment globally while looking ahead to societal and business changes which will come as a result of the pandemic.
What has Kimble done to be innovative and creative in order for their business to survive this economic crisis?
From the beginning, Kimble followed the social distancing, hygienic guidelines and work at home recommendations to be good citizens. They have published broadly on social media and by email what they hope is the most accurate information on the coronavirus, markets and the economy in hopes of educating fellow men and women. Kimble maintains their charitable giving to help those in need. And they shop for their neighbors who are more vulnerable to the virus so that they can shelter in place.
How can you support this small business during this time?
Kimble encourages everyone to shop, dine and do business locally where most of their clients and many of their investment managers live and work (they’ve enjoyed carry-out chicken from Hot Chick and sushi from Red Salt!)
